The Saturday before the 4th of July, Manchester starts celebrating. The Manchester Fireworks and Chicken BBQ event has been a staple in the community calendar for more than 30 years, and 2017 carries on the tradition with festivities unfolding at 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 1st at the MCC Bandshell.
Head to the Bandshell for the free family-friendly attractions, including children's games and activities, and stay for the live music and the barbecue. Local band the North Cove Rogues opens up the evening of music on the main stage and Mass Confusion headlines later in the evening. For just $10 per person, your entire crew can dig into an Independence Day feast of chicken, a baked potato, watermelon, a roll, coleslaw, and a drink. After dinner, grab a spot on the grassy lawn for the fireworks display, which kicks off at 9:30 p.m.
