It's important to wash your hands numerous times throughout the day, but it's just as important to do it correctly. In order to prevent spreading germs and to reduce the risk of food borne illness, follow these tips when you wash your hands at Broadleaf Apartments:
- Use soap and water. Soak your hands completely and then use as much soap as you need to cover both hands. Load up on the soap; you can never use too much.
- Rub, rub, rub. Using a circular motion, rub your palms together.
- Clean the creases. Make sure to clean between your fingers. To get to all of those hard-to-reach places, place one hand on top of the other as if you are holding hands. Scrub between your fingers by using the fingertips of your other hand. Repeat this for both hands.
- Don't forget the fingernails. Rub your fingernails across the palm of your other hand to remove the germs and dirt.
- Wash and dry. Wet your hands completely with water to rinse off the soap. Dry them with a paper towel and turn the faucet off using the paper towel so you don't spread anymore germs.
